Calibration Standards
for Flow
TetraTec Instruments GmbH

Standalone and integrated into our calibration systems we offer a variety of flow standards:

Model
Short Description

Test and Calibration Leaks

We manufacture standard and customer specific test and calibration leaks based on capillaries and nozzles or orifices as well as customer specific versions for the testing of flow and leakage measurement devices
In the picture aside the different models are shown: Standard Leaks in a cylindric shape and customer specified leaks with the geometry of the orginal production parts.
We can realize such test and calibration leaks in a wide flow range from approx. 0,01 ml/min to. 3 l/min and supply them allways inclusive a factory calibration certificate.

SNZ Sonic Nozzles according DIN EN ISO 9300

For the calibration of flow of air but also of pure gases sonic nozzles at critical pressure (sonic flow) conditions according to the standard DIN EN ISO 9300 are an ideal pretty long time stable transfer standard.
Nozzles in the flow range of 15 l/h up to aproximatly 2000 m3/h, nozzle sections and galleries in a diameter range from DN 25 to DN 200 we can realize according to the standard. In equivalence to the standard we can manufacture bigger and smaller nozzles also.
Simple handling, fast response time, high measurement accuracy and control of the flow (between 0,12% o.R. and 0,3% o.R.), and a very high long time stability and accordingly long recalibration periods ( up to 2 m3/h = 5 years and above = 10 years) are unbeatable properties for repeating calibration tasks for volume flow measurement devices for air and gases.

Especially in combination with our nozzle gallery design it is very comfortable to apply the nozzles, see here:

PVTt Isothermal Tank

According to the real gas law a mass flow measurement with Laval nozzles at an isothermal chamber can be performed with very high precision.
An air flow Qv with atmosperical input conditions will be drawn into a Laval nozzle. The vacuum outlet pressure is applied by switching an isolation valve at an evacuated isothermal tank which is evacuated below the critical pressure ratio. This way of testing is especially recommended by the DIN ISO 6358 for pneumatic components and parts to simplify testing and save compressed air consumption.

Volumetric Gas Meter

Gas meter measure the flow of air and gases in the basic principle of volume displacement. Manufactured in a high quality they are a physical primary standard for the determination of volume flow. Dependand on the flow range different construction types were used. The integrated pulse transmitter will creat a certain number of pulses per round, which were proportional to the gas flow.
